The restaurant was designed by the architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Mila. Flash Flash opened its doors for the first time in 1970. According to the informal style that Correa and Mila wanted to achieve, they designed a cool restaurant but without apparent luxuries. Correa decided that the walls have to be the perfect support for Leopoldo Pomés photographies. Pomés, helped by his wife Karin -model and stylist-, made some photographs of a young photographer in action. The images in black contrast with the whiteness of the whole place and have become a symbol.
Flash Flash represented an impact of modernity when it was created. Nowadays, the restaurant continues being a meeting point for design lovers, architects, designers, gastro lovers, people of Barcelona, tourists, families, groups of friends, young and old people. 45 years later, Flash Flash remains remarkably modern.
